Boston Bikes at first National Women’s Bicycling Summit!

This day last week, Boston Bikes was at the National Women’s Bicycling Summit. The first of its kind, this Summit was a gathering of bicycle professionals coming from around the nation to focus on women. The keynote speaker from World Bicycle Relief spoke about the role of transport cycling in women’s and girls’ access to health care, education and livelihood in developing countries. Break-out sessions included topics such as social justice in transport cycling, family cycling, women in sports cycling, and bike fashion. It was a great time, and a great opportunity to showcase our new Women and Family Cycling Initiative!

Did you know?

In 2012, Boston surpassed 60 miles of bike lane. This is up from 60 yards in 2007. We continue to add 10–20 miles per year. Check out the Bike Network Plan to see our plans for the future.
