BIKE HARVEST NIGHT!

Roll It Forward held its first “Bike Harvest” this past Wednesday. A huge number of volunteers showed up from all over the city to tear complete bikes down to bare frames like a flock of purposeful kea birds. The frames were either donated to Bikes Not Bombs or recycled, while the parts will be stored in labeled bins, ready to be installed on needy bikes. A great night was made even better by some support from our friends at Pizza-Pi-er and Harpoon Brewery. And thanks to Pedro’s, we had ample tools to loan to our productive guests.

Like” Boston Bikes on Facebook to stay in the loop, we’d love to have you at our next volunteer night!

Did you know?

Every automobile excise tax mailer sent to Boston drivers included a pamphlet about safe driving around bicycles. 500,000 were mailed out in 2011.
